The AGPI Game Catalog includes information about tens of thousands of games issued by game companies in the United States and around the world.

The Game Catalog historically has been produced in two primary versions, both of which are available online through the links included below:

Many of the games and companies listed in one version also appear in the other version. However, at present each version includes games that do not yet appear in the other version. These two versions are being merged to incorporate pretty much all listed games in each format.

The Game Catalog, 11th Edition aims to include all indoor games published in the Latin alphabet from 1800 through 1960. As of the end of 2024, the document includes an estimated 13,500 U.S. games from approximatetely 2,750 manufacturers and approximately 11,000 non-U.S. games from 45 countries. The 11th edition is available online; prior editions (10th, 9th, 8th, 7th, etc.) were published in print editions.

GameCatalog.org as of the end of 2024 contains information on the following:

  • 22,461 games
  • 3833 game publishers
  • 2645 game publisher addresses
  • 400 game publisher history events (founding, acquisition, etc.)

Game and Puzzle Company Histories

Numerous articles about companies producing and selling games and puzzles have been written by AGPI members and published in  AGPI's publications since our founding in 1985. We've also included links to exemplary articles from other websites.

Game and Puzzle Company Trade Catalogs

Game and puzzle companies regularly printed and distributed trade catalogs listing their products, often with illustrations and list prices. Trade catalogs are especially helpful in dating games and puzzles.

During its first 20 years, the AGPI Archives collected hundreds of trade catalogs from its members, both originals and photocopies. In 2007, these trade catalogs were donated to The Strong museum's Brian Sutton-Smith Library, which subsequently digitized over 2000 trade catalogs, including many donated by the AGPI, and posted them online.

Since then, individual AGPI members have collected and preserved hundreds of game and puzzle company trade catalogs, many of which have been scanned but not yet posted online.
