2017 Bradley-Parker Award Winner • Dave Wilson
The AGPI presented Dave Wilson with its 2017 Bradley-Parker Award during our May 2017 convention.
Perhaps no one is more worthy to be honored with the Bradley-Parker Award than E. David “Dave” Wilson because no other individual can lay claim to having led the growth of Parker Brothers, Milton Bradley, and ultimately their combination (Hasbro Games).
Dave’s game (and puzzle) career began in 1972 when he accepted the position of Vice President of Sales at Parker Brothers. Eight years later he joined Milton Bradley and, after holding key management positions in the 1980s, Dave was named president of Milton Bradley in 1990. In 1999, he became president of the consolidated Hasbro Games. In 2004 he was promoted to Executive Vice President, Global Development and President of Hasbro Games Segment, a position he held until his retirement at the end of the following year.
Dave was “present at the inception” when board games became “all-family,” when adult social games became the buzz of America, when tabletop electronics were born and thrived, when Big Ben reigned supreme as America’s top puzzle brand, when Puzz3D was launched and flourished, and when classic games outlasted the fervor over video games and returned to enduring favor.
Dave’s storied career is both fascinating and instructive.
